FLOAT ROTATION DESCRIPTION
Interns in the last six months of their intern year and R2s in the first six months of their second year provide night time float coverage rotations in blocks two through thirteen. The float resident schedule is as follows:
This rotation is 72 hours as a nocturnalist and provides extensive call relief to the whole residency program. It is usually possible to get a nocturnal nap for one to two hours. Residents are free from Saturday 8:00 a.m. through Monday 10:00 a.m. There are specific reading assignments and tutorials that will be held with the medicine attending that have been organized by Dr. Hoffmann. These include quality assurance issues and EKG reading files. The goals and objectives for the rotation are to found under the Internal Medicine section.
