Didactics and Conferences
Residents and faculty gather on noon hours and Thursday afternoons for didactics/conferences that may focus on several topics, including internal medicine, pediatrics, geriatrics, pharmacology, dermatology, neurology, urology, emergency medicine, psychology, gynecology, obstetrics, nutrition and other clinical topics.
Didactic highlights include the Evidence Based Medicine curriculum (Feb-June), EKG training (July-Nov), Radiology teaching (August-December), and specialized obstetrics and internal medicine didactics. In addition, the program organizes a monthly resident business meeting and faculty/staff meeting to discuss issues. Practice management, counseling, physical therapy, balint, morbidity & mortality (M&M), and other specialized themes are also addressed through didactics. Residents traditionally attend 50-80 percent of all didactics.
