Key Goals - Strategic Plan

1. Access – Recruitment of physicians for Idaho.
a. Work with Portneuf Medical Center to establish a collaborative hospitalist program that has recruited four full time (or full and part time to 4 FTEs) hospitalists by July 2010
b. Achieve accreditation for new rural training track (RTT) in Rexburg, Idaho
c. Expand first year class to seven residents to fill RTT

2. Quality – Sustain and continuously improve medical care for Idaho citizens through education, quality improvement, and clinical research.
a. Develop additional pediatric training opportunities with the Spokane Family Medicine Residency Program
b. Expand clinical research program by identifying new project opportunities

3. Efficiency – Improve long-term financial viability of the department/residency program.
a. Identify the best operational and financial structure to maximize funding streams and clinical revenues
b. Transition residency program through change in ownership and administration of Portneuf Medical Center (PMC)
